August 17, 2012
RECEIVED
AUG 242:
Division of Reclamation,
Mining & Safety
Eric Scott
Environmental Protection Specialist
Division of Reclamation , Mining and Safety
1313 Sherman St. Room 215
Denver, CO 80203
Re: Inspections at M- 2002 -120 and M- 1998 -013
Mr. Scott:
During your inspections of our four sites the end of June Tamarisk (salt cedar) trees were
observed at two of the sites, Bernhardt and Firestone.
The Tamarisk at both sites has been cut and sprayed by PVM Prime Vegetation
Management and our weed control team. These areas had been sprayed earlier in the
year during March.
The one area of ongoing concern is the silt pond at the Firestone facility. We contracted
with an aerial spraying company to do an application. However after they looked at the
site they could not because of a new Federal Rule that prohibits spraying where there is
standing water. So we have sprayed what we can reach and will finish this when it dries
up or freezes.
All bonding questions have been answered for Barbara I am told by Flood and Peterson
Insurance,
If other questions arise please give me a call.
Sincerely,
Mark Johnson
Compliance Manager
B EST WAY
C O N C R E T E E i A G G R E G A T E S
P.O.
