Mr. Larry Perino -- 2 March 29, 1991
Please provide your responses to the above-referenced items prior to
April 29, 1991. If you have any questions, please contact me.
Sincerely,
4524F
4. The proposal identifies the factors of safety resulting from the
proposed slope design of the pile. As these are in excess of the
minimums acceptable for static (1.5) and psuedostatic (1.3)
conditions, the slope design is acceptable, however, the Division
requests you submit a copy of the geotechnical report which
describes the data, assumptions and results of the stability
analysis prepared by the consultant.
5. The revision proposes that the lead carbonate tailings at the
American Tunnel be removed and disposed of at Tailings Pond No. 1.
Although this proposal may be acceptable based on the
characteristics of the material, the Division cannot approve of
this proposal at this time and recommends it be proposed at a later
date along with the revision expected for Tailings Pond No. 1.
6. The reclamation cost estimates provided in the technical revision
proposal have been reviewed. The Division agrees that no increase
in the present bond amount is required for approval of this
revision.
John T. Doerfer
Reclamation Specialist
JTD /gaw
cc: H.
