During the phone conversation on 5/30/96, the operator stated that topsoil,
available for salvage for the Cement Creek diversion project, was intermittent and ranged
from 0" to 4" depth. The operator indicated that topsoil would be salvaged and
stockpiled when encountered. Topsoil stockpiles will be located adjacent to areas where
topsoil stripping had occurred and will be redistributed following backfilling of the pipeline
cut.
DMG Denver staff have reviewed the portion of TR-19 addressing injection of alkaline
waters into the mine pool and have recommended approval of the proposed operation.
Please find attached, copy of recommendations from Allen Sorenson and Harry Posey
from DMG Denver office.
DMG approved TR-19 on 5/30/96.
Please contact me at the DMG field office in Durango, 1474 Main Avenue, Room 207,
Durango, CO 81301-5182, phone (970) 247-5062, if I can be of greater service.
Sincerely,
Wallace H.
