Bowie applied for two coal lease modifications <br />adjacent to its Bowie No. 2 Mine. Bowie's application consisted of adding a total of about <br />502.43 acres to its leases in order to prevent the bypassing of about 3.25 million recoverable tons <br />of federal coal. The coal lease modifications surface area includes private and public lands in <br />which BLM manages a portion of the surface. The lease modifications are located about five <br />miles northeast of Paonia in Delta County in Township 13 South, Ranges 91 and 92 West, 6 <br />PM. <br />The EA, FONSI and DR are available at <br />http: / /www.blm.gov /co /st/en/BLM Information/nepa/ufo.html <br />(scroll to DOI- BLM- CO -S050- 2012 -0001 EA). <br />Within 30 days of the date of this letter, you have the right of appeal to the Board of Land <br />Appeals. Office of the Secretary, in accordance with the regulations at 43 CFR 4.400. Appeal <br />and stay procedures are outlined in Form 1842 -1.
