Pineda <br />Director <br />RE: Twentymile Coal Company, Permit C -82 -056 <br />Second Quarter 2012 Discharge Monitoring Report Review (Permit CO- 0027154, CO- <br />0036684, CO- 0042161, COG - 850054, COG - 850051) <br />June 2012 Discharge Monitoring Report (CO- 0027154) <br />Dear Mr. Watterson: <br />The Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining, and Safety (CDRMS) has reviewed and found the <br />above referenced reports to be in compliance with Rule 4.05.13(2). The Second Quarter Discharge <br />Monitoring Reports for the above referenced CDPS Permits were received by the Division on O1 August <br />2012; the reports cover the time period from 01 April 2012 through 30 June 2012 and Ol June 2012 <br />through 30 June 2012 (CO- 0027154). <br />Permit CO- 0027154 — During the month of May 2012 only Outfalls 003A (Pond B) and 006A (Pond E) <br />flowed. No exceedances were noted. <br />No outfalls discharged during the months of April and June of the quarter. <br />Permit CO- 0036684 — Outfall OOlA/OO1W/1\40N1 (Site 62) discharged during the second quarter, with <br />no exceedances noted. WET tests were collected for Site 62. The tests indicated that the effluent was <br />not acutely toxic. <br />Permit CO- 0042161 — Outfall 002A (sites 300E and 300I) discharged during the quarter. Outfall <br />00 1A/00 IW/M0N1 (site 115) did not discharge during the quarter. <br />One exceedance of was noted in April. 300E exceeded the 30 -day average for TSS (92mg/L v the limit <br />of 75mg/L). The TSS dropped to 14 mg/L in May with no flow in June. <br />Permit COG - 850051 — Outfall 001 /OOW (6MN Pond) did not discharge during the second quarter 2012. <br />Permit COG - 850054 — 0utfall 001A (18LT Pond) did not discharge during the second quarter 2012. <br />Office of Office of <br />Mined Land Reclamation Denver • Grand Junction • Durango Active and Inactive Mines <br />
