Pineda <br />Director <br />The Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, <br />Article 33, Section 118, Paragraph 3, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on August 17, 2012, <br />an application to revise coal mining operations at the Foidel Creek Mine was considered complete <br />for the purposes of filing. All review and comment periods as provided in the Act and the <br />Regulations initiate from this date of filing. <br />Twentymile Coal, LLC proposes to modify the approved Foidel Creek Mine plan for the Western <br />Mining District (WMD) through Permit Revision No. 09 (PR -9). PR -9 proposes to add an <br />additional longwall panel, the 11 -Left Panel, and to include an extension of the 12 -Left and 13 -Left <br />Panels. The additional panel and panel extensions to the west will require modification of the <br />currently approved Foidel Creek Mine Permit Area boundary adding approximately 560 acres to <br />the Mine Permit Area. Activities under the proposed mine plan modification will be limited to <br />underground continuous miner development and longwall mining and will not require construction <br />of any new surface facilities. <br />The Underground coal mining operation is on land located approximately 23 miles southwest of <br />Steamboat Springs, Colorado. The permit area is further described as follows: <br />In portions of Sections 7, 8, 9, T4N, R86W; Sections 32 and 33, T6N, R86W; Sections 23, 24, 25, <br />26, 27, 34, 35 and 36 in T5N, R87W; and all of T5N, R86W with the exception of Sections 34, 35, <br />and 36.
