Using the above mentioned unit costs, CBCI's total estimated reclamation costs are:
• Distribute Cap Materials: 11,200 yd @ $3.10 /yd = $34,720
• Seed Mix: 3 seasons of 201bs /ac @ 4.5ac @$5.25/1b of seed = $1,418
• Scarify and Broadcast Seed: 4.5 acres @ $2,500 /acre = $11,250
• TOTAL RECLAMATION COSTS = $47,388
The desired condition of the surface to be reclaimed will be to equal or exceed the July 2012 vegetative
conditions. As per the last DRMS site inspection (September 20, 2011), the vegetative conditions inside
the boundary of the 112 permit were considered successful, or nearly so.
Rule 3.1.5(7) requires that, upon reclamation, the sedimentation pond slopes cannot be any steeper than
1:2 (V:H), except from 5 feet above and 10 feet below the expected water line where slopes must be 1:3
(V:H). Given the surface dimensions of the planned sedimentation pond these criteria can be met, and the
historic detention time of 12 hours at 1,000 gpm can still be achieved. In the event that the sedimentation
pond slopes do not meet reclamation criteria CBCI will grade and fill the pond using stored materials
from Stockpile 1 if needed. No additional costs are anticipated to do so, since the total volume of
materials to be moved does not change.
Prior to submitting this TR, CBCI currently has a financial warranty of $25,000 towards reclamation
under the 112 permit. Under separate cover, CBCI has submitted an additional $50,000 for financial
warranty to the Mined Land Reclamation Board to accommodate reclamation costs for the proposed
revisions in this TR. Therefore, the 112 permit currently has financial warranty of $75,000, which CBCI
believes is more than adequate to accommodate reclamation of the site.
Technical Revision, Camp Bird Mine 112 Permit (Permit No. M- 1982 -090) Page 11
