I arrived at the site at 1:45 p.m. Skies were cloudy, and a series
of rain showers was observed to be falling across the Nucla area and the Uncompahgre Plateau to the
north. The Hamilton Mine permit area received only a few light sprinkles during the inspection.
Road and ground surfaces were dry throughout the pen area.
HYDROLOGIC BALANCE - Rule 4.05
Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.053; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, 4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7,
4.05.10; Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water
Monitoring 4.05.13; Drainage — Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream
Buffer Zones 4.05.18:
• Pond B was completely dry. Culvert pipes and ditches throughout the permit area were clear of
debris and appeared to be in good, working order.
REVEGETATION — Rule 4.15
Vegetative Cover; Timing:
• The vegetation within the reclaimed areas, particularly the grasses, was much greener than what
was observed during previous 2012 inspections. The area appears to have benefited from the
monsoon cycle that began in July.
ENFORCEMENT ACTIONS /COMPLIANCE
No enforcement actions were issued as a result of this inspection and none are pending.
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 1
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 1 Page 2 of 2
