Cotter Corporation
(N.S.L.) ( "Cotter ") has identified two locations in the dry creek bed with low subsurface flow
that contain uranium which can be collected and treated. Cotter desires to collect and treat this
water before it leaves Cotter's property.
Cotter would like to install two (2) temporary low -flow sump pumps in shallow sumps (one
pump per sump) in the creek bed of Ralston Creek to collect this subsurface flow and process it
through the water treatment facility at the Schwartzwalder Mine site. The sole objective of this
effort is to protect the Ralston Creek water quality. Pumping would be performed using the
aforementioned low -flow pumps, which Cotter currently has on hand, to collect the subsurface
flow from the creek and pump it into existing Sumps 5 and 8, using currently installed
mechanical and electrical infrastructure. The water would then be treated at the water treatment
facility for discharge under Water Quality Control Division permit CO- 0001244. See Figure 1
below for picture of proposed low -flow sump pumps.
Bonding
The cost for the parts and installation of the two low -flow sump pumps in the creek bed is
estimated to be approximately $320.00. This cost is the proposed basis for TR -21 bonding, as
detailed below.
