This operation is located approximately 5 miles north of Palisade,
Colorado in portions of Sections 26,27,28,34 and 35 of T1OS, R98W; Sections 1,2,11,12,and 13
of T 11 S, R98W; and Section 7, of Ti 1 S, R97W of the 6th PM. We are familiar with the
operation of the site and understand continuing activities includes reclamation, monitoring, and
maintenance within various portions of the permit area. The permit renewal would not
incorporate additional lands into the permit area or propose additional surface disturbance and, as
a result, no significant impacts to wildlife are anticipated.
We appreciate the opportunity to comment on this project. Please feel free to contact Frank
McGee at 970 - 255 -6115 should you have any questions or require additional information.
Sincerely,
JT Romatzke
Area Wildlife Manager
cc: Ron Velarde, NW Regional Manager
Dean Riggs, Assistant NW Regional Manager
Frank McGee, District Wildlife Manager
Albert Romero, District Wildlife Manager
STATE OF COLORADO
John W.
