During this quarter, four NPDES outfalls were active. Outfalls 001, 002, 011 and 020
discharged throughout the quarter. Outfalls 005, 008, 009, 012, 013, 014, 015, 016, 017, 018, 019, 021, 022, 023
and 024 did not discharge during the quarter. Trapper Mine and Northwest Colorado in general experienced an
extremely dry winter. Primary spring runoff had already occurred on the site during first quarter this year. Values
reported on the enclosed DMRs represent the maximum (or minimum as applicable) monthly /daily values generated
at each outfall during the quarter.
Also enclosed are monthly NOAA weather summaries for the reporting period and WET test report forms as
applicable. Two outfalls were sampled for WET analyses during the quarter. Two species acute tests were
completed at outfall 011 and 020. No exceedances of WET test limitations were observed at any tested outfalls.
No exceedances of primary effluent limitations occurred during this quarter.
Trapper is required to maintain sediment levels in ponds at or below 60% of the pond volume. Outfalls 001,
structures #7R, #8, #10; 002, structure #5; 013, structure #1 and 017, structure #1 has exceeded 60% sediment
levels. These structures will be cleaned by the end of the calendar year. All other outfalls have been properly
maintained and did not exceed the 60% threshold for sediment accumulation. All structures operated properly and
were not compromised in any way. All other operations were properly conducted concerning the sediment control
structures at Trapper Mine.
Thank you for your cooperation in this matter. Please contact me if you have any further questions or comments
concerning the enclosed information.
