(TRAPPER MINE]
July 25, 2012
TRAPPER MININ INC.
Mr. Jared Ebert
Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety
1313 Sherman St., Room 215
Denver, CO 80203
Dear Jared:
Subject: Trapper Mine (Permit No. C-81 -010)
2011 Annual Hydrology Report, Adequacy Response 1
In response to comments initiated on the July 10th adequacy review.
RECEIVSO
JUL 3 0 701?
Division of Reclamation,
Mining and Safety
The Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety requested additional
information concerning three items within the Annual Hydrology Report. Each item and
respective response is below.
1.) Water monitoring for well P -3 ceased 2005 and 2003. The monitoring scheduled
noted on Table 4.8 -13a indicates List C and D parameters are to be sampled at this well
during the 2" and 3 quarter respectively. Please explain this discrepancy.
Sampling is conducted according to the permit. List C and D water sample parameters
could not be sampled for because monitoring well P -3 has been dry since 2006 and has
shown measurable water intermittently before this point. P -3 was dry during the 2 and
3 quarters of 2004 and was dry during the 1 st, 3r and 4th quarters of 2005, so sampling
could not be conducted during those quarters.
2.) Water elevation monitoring occurred twice in 2011 for well P -5. Based on the
operational ground water monitoring schedule noted on Table 4.8 -13a, this well is to
receive quarterly water elevation measures. Also, it appears the third quarter water
quality sampling for the List B parameters was not reported in the 2011 AHR for this
well. Please address this issue.
Monitoring well P -5 was dry during the 1 and 3 quarters of 2011 and water level
measurements and samples could not be collected for those periods. The AHR
unfortunately does not show a depth greater than 20.90 feet as in previous years to
indicate the well was dry. This appears to be an error within the compilation of the
report.
P.O. Box 187
Craig, Colorado 81626 (970) 824 -4401
