4th Quarter/December Monthly Report
Page 5
low flow class. In comparison to the December 3 , 1997 sample
result, the 571 ug/1 is higher (571 ug/1 verses 527 ug/1) but
the flow was also lower (117 cfs verses 95 cfs) which would
lead to a prediction of a higher zinc concentration.
Since the index value is less than +2 . 0, Sunnyside does not
plan any additional monitoring or re-analysis.
The 12 period moving average of index values for dissolved zinc
at A-72 (graph attached) dropped to +0.32 in December. This
drop is small (+0. 36 to+0. 32) and is probably due to annual
variations in hydrology. It is still well below the critical
value of +0.577.
If you have any questions on this report, please contact me.
I certify under penalty of law
that I have personally examined Sincerely,
and am familiar with the information
submitted herein: and based on my
inquiry of those individuals
immediately responsible for Larry Perino
obtaining the information, I Reclamation
Manager
believe the submitted information
is true, accurate and complete.
I am aware that there are significant
penalties for submitting false
information, including the possibility
of fine and imprisonment. See 15 U.S.C.
Section 1001 and 33 U.S.C. Section 1319
cc: EPA - Melanie Pallman
EPA Region 8 (8ENF-T)
DMG - Wally Erickson,
Allen Sorenson
