Flow is not expected until rainstorms are heavy
enough to produce storm runoff.
There has been very little germination of the seeds planted at this project site and the area
may have to be replanted in the fall.
• Tailings Pond No. 4 Upland Groundwater Diversion
This project was completed in December but due to snow accumulation in the project
area, project inspection by DMG was not possible. An inspection has not been requested
yet. The flow has decreased to nothing and the area is very dry. Very little seed
germination occurred in the planted areas of this site and they may have to be replanted in
the fall.
Cement Creek Diversion and Water Treatment
Cement Creek diversion and water treatment was active throughout the month of August.
The quantity diverted for treatment was regulated throughout August. All of the
American Tunnel flow was treated.
The August 2000 monitoring results for; dissolved metals in the AT-004 discharge;
Cement Creek (CCAB); American Tunnel flow before treatment (AT-INFEL); and
Cement Creek below the AT-004 discharge point (CC-20) are attached.
Mainstem Stream Monitoring and Reference Point Stream Monitoring
Sunnyside sampled the reference point (A-72) and the three main-stem gaging stations
(A-68, M-34 and C-48) on August 2nd.
