Zach Tru'illo
- 3 - July 25, 2012
beginning of D49 there is a 6' berm, plated with riprap which will provide adequate
protection to keep the diversion ditch within its channel bank.
There will be a small amount of cut in the middle section of D49 -2 %, and a small
amount of fill at the beginning of D- 49 -2 %; but overall the channel section does not go
upgradient.
DRMS: It does not appear that Map 14 contains a typical section for D49 as stated in
the NECC response. There is a cross section for D31, but it is not stated that this is also
representative of the section for D49. Regardless, a section does not provide the detail
needed to illustrate the design of the upper end of this ditch; this design must direct flow
away from the proposed DWDA. Furthermore, the berms that are described should be
shown on Map 14.
NECC: The reference should have been to a typical section shown on Map -12. A
phone conversation with Rob Zuber on July 23, 2012 cleared up DRMS' issues with the
caveat that a note should be added to Map -12 stating flow will be directed away from
DWDA #3. In addition, the berms are now shown on revised Map 14.
8. DRMS: During the Division's May 1, 2012 inspection, it was observed that access
roads may be needed to perform maintenance on ditch D49 and ditches along the
western end of the proposed West DWDA. Please add access roads or provide
an explanation as to why roads will not be needed to perform maintenance on
these ditches.
NECC: A light use road has been added to provide access to the western end of the
DWDA, please see revised Map -12.
DRMS: It is not clear that the roads shown on Map 12 provide access to the western
end of the DWDA, please revise Map -12.
NECC: The intent of the light use road shown on Map -12 is to provide access to the
west side of the DWDA area, then track mounted equipment will be used to maintain
ditches as needed. Therefore, no revisions to the alignment of the road shown on
Map -12 have been provided.
9. Response is sufficient
10. Response is sufficient
11.
