6.4.8 Exhibit H
Wildlife Information
The subject property is grazing, ranch land and will be returned to rangeland during
reclamation.
Travis Black, Area Wildlife Manager for Colorado Parks and Wildlife, provided the
email below stating threatened and endangered species were not in the area. The
operator will be alert to swift fox burrows, especially those containing pups.
From: Black, Travis [Travis. Black 95tate. co, us]
To: Angela Bellantoni
Cc
Subject: RE: Sec 35, T22S, R50W
I _.
1 Ms. Bellantoni,
Thank you for the gentle reminder. I apologize for the delay.
Sent: Fri S!22.20121:27PM
To the best of my knowledge, there are no T &E species located on or near the site. However, the area is known to be
occupied or utilized by Swift Fox, a Colorado listed species of concern that favors short grass prairie. Please insure that no
burrow sites are noted prior to digging, as Swift fox may have pups at this time of year.
Thanks again, and please let me know if i can be of further assistance.
Travis Black
Area ftildlife Manager
Colorado Parks and 117ldlife
2500 S. Main
Lamar, CO 51052
('19)336-6603
t {-
The Colorado Natural Heritage Program at Colorado State University was
contacted to perform a database search for rare and threatened species. The Texas
Horned Lizard was the only rare and /or imperiled species found within a two -mile
radius of the proposed site. The lizard was sighted in December 1997 and is rated as
secure rather than threatened species.
The cottonwood stands along the Arkansas Rive and John Martin Reservoir
are known habitats for the bald eagle and various plover species. The proposed site
does not include a cottonwood stand and is not adjacent to either water body or
associated tributaries.
9
