1. Adjacent land uses are primarily agricultural.
2. Mining activities will include scrapers, excavators, loaders, and
haul trucks. On —site processing includes crushing, screening, and
washing aggregate products and asphalt production. Finished
aggregate products are stockpiles adjacent to the processing
facility.
3. Approximately 10 to 15 feet of overburden material will be
removed prior to aggregate mining. Once overburden is removed,
it is estimated that between 10 and 15 feet of the sand and
gravel deposit will be mined.
4. No groundwater will be encountered during mining.
5. Mining will not create highwalls and will excavate 3H:1V pit slops
as mining progresses.
6. Topsoil and waste rock /overburden not immediately used for
reclamation will be stockpiled on the pit floor.
7. If possible, material at the southern part of Phase I will be left
in place during mining to prevent mine pit stormwater drainage
from leaving the site
8. Best Management Practices will be used to limit discharge of
sediment onto adjacent properties and waterways.
