Compliance With Mine Plan N - Support Facilities Not On-site <br /> N - Other N - Special Categories Of Mining <br /> R -Processing Waste R -Topsoil <br /> COMMENTS <br /> INTRODUCTION—This was an aerial inspection of the Bowie No. 2 Mine conducted by Harry Ranney of the <br /> Division of Reclamation,Mining and Safety(Division). Aerial photographs were taken on July 25, 2012 at <br /> approximately 12:30 pm. Ten photographs were taken during the flyover. Brock Bowles of the Division reviewed <br /> the aerial photographs. <br /> HYDROLOGIC BALANCE -Rule 4.05 Drainage Control 4.05.1,4.05.2,4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, <br /> 4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7,4.05.10; Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water <br /> Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Drainage—Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; <br /> Impoundments 4.05.6,4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18: <br /> Pond B and C contained water. Pond F was dry. <br /> PROCESSING WASTE/COAL MINE WASTE PILES—Rule 4.10 and 4.11 Drainage Control; Surface <br /> Stabilization; Placement: <br /> Ditch D-D3 is free of gob material and appears to be in good condition(photo 1). The expansion of gob <br /> pile 2 to the northwest that was approved in TR-72 was not being constructed at the time of this inspection(photo <br /> 1). The access road to the coverfill pile east of gob pile 2 was still in place. This access road crosses ditch D-F4 <br /> which flows to pond F. <br /> SUPPORT FACILITIES -Rule 4.04: <br /> A new access road west of the downhill conveyor has been made (photo 2). This road was not present in <br /> the June 27, 2012 aerial photograph of the same area. This new road may be one of the access roads approved in <br /> MR-88 for the drilling of eleven geotech holes. <br /> TOPSOIL—Rule 4.06 Removal 4.06.2; Substitute Materials 4.06.4(4); Storage and Protection 4.06.3; <br /> Redistribution 4.06.4: <br /> Topsoil Pile A appears to have a lack of vegetation on the South side of the pile.
