February 1998 Monthly Report
Page 2
Ni=(Xi-Xf)/Sf
Ni=(584-519)/124
Ni= +0. 52
The index number graph and updated reporting table are attached.
Evaluation of the normalized data:
The index value of +0. 52 for February indicates that the
2issolved zinc concentration at the reference point A-72 was higher
than the mean of the reference data set for the flow class. This
result (+0. 52) is not above the variance from the mean that could
be expected. In comparison to the results from February, 1997, it
is a 17% reduction in concentration (700 ug/1 compared to 584
ug/1) . This is a significant improvement.
A 12 period moving average graph is attached. The calculated
moving average value for the normalized residual is +0.708. This is
a decrease from the January 12-month average of +0. 786. The
3ecreasing trend is positive and if this continues, the 12-month
average will be around the +0. 577 value in April or May.
If you have any questions on this report, please contact me.
I certify under penalty of law
that I have personally examined Sincerely,
and am familiar with the information
submitted herein: and based on my `
inquiry of those individuals -
immediately responsible for Larry Perino
obtaining the information, I Reclamation Manager
believe the submitted information
is true, accurate and complete.
I am aware that there are significant
penalties for submitting false
information, including the possibility
of fine and imprisonment.
