August 1998 Monthly Report <br /> Page 2 <br /> Monitoring data from samples taken in August at the Gold Prince <br /> Mine site are attached. <br /> - Sunnyside Mine Pool Mitigation - Alkaline Solution Injection <br /> This project was not active in August 1998. The water pool <br /> pH, at the American Tunnel bulkhead, on August 28, 1998, was <br /> 2 . 88 and the bulkhead pressure was 359 psi. <br /> Sunnyside will continue to monitor these parameters. <br /> "B List" Projects <br /> - Columbus Mine Portals -Mine Waste Dumps <br /> - London Mine Portals - Waste Dumps <br /> Work, permitting or arrangement for access is not planned <br /> until it becomes evident that the work plans for these <br /> projects require implementation. <br /> - Sunnyside submitted work plans to three projects for review and <br /> addition to the current list of "B List" projects in the Consent <br /> Decree. <br /> - Cement Creek Diversion and Water Treatment <br /> Cement Creek diversion and water treatment was active <br /> continuously throughout August. The flow of Cement Creek in <br /> August remained at levels that required control on the water <br /> treatment system inlet quantity although at times the entire <br /> flow was treated. The flow diverted and treated in August <br /> ranged from 937 G.P.M. to 1104 G.P.M. <br /> Attached are August, 1998 monitoring results for; dissolved <br /> metals in the AT-004 discharge; Cement Creek diverted for <br /> treatment (CC-1B) ; American Tunnel flow before treatment (AT- <br /> INFEL) ; and Cement Creek below the AT-004 discharge point (CC- <br /> 20) . <br />
