July 10, 2012
3
2.0 Critical Construction Periods
2.1 Removal of All Organic Material and Topsoil
Topsoil and organic material removal activities were not conducted during the quarter.
2.2 Placement of Underdrainage Systems
The underdrainge system was completed in the first quarter of 2010; additional work on this system is
not anticipated. During the time of the inspection, there was no water flow from the underdrainage
system.
2.3 Installation of Surface Drainage Systems
Both the north and south surface drains were inspected (photographs 2 and 3). To minimize erosion
and improve the drainage system, a trackhoe with a rock breaker attachment was rented in late May
and early June and used to break the oversized rock in both the north and south drains of the fill. After
breaking the rocks the drains were reshaped into their original drainage profiles. At the time of
inspection there were no signs of water flow in either of these drainages.
Photograph 2: North Surface Drain Looking Northeast (6129112)
