Box 20,000 <br />Grand Junction, CO 81501 <br />Re: Roadside Portals (Permit No. C- 1981 -041) <br />Permit Revision Application No. 5 (PR -5) <br />Demonstration for Approval to Remove Drainage Control Features at the North Portal, <br />CRDA 1 & 2, CBA 1 & 2 and change in Reclamation Plan of Ponds 6, 10, 11 and other final <br />drainage features. <br />Dear Mesa County Commissioners: <br />This letter is to inform you that the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety is proposing to <br />Approve a revision application for a coal mining and reclamation permit. The application was submitted by <br />Snowcap Coal Company, Inc. on March 8, 2012, for the Roadside Portals. <br />Any person with an interest which may be adversely affected by the proposed decision may request a formal <br />hearing before the Mined Land Reclamation Board within thirty (30) days of the first publication of this <br />notice by the Division in the The Daily Sentinel. <br />The Underground mine is located approximately 5 miles North of Palisade, Colorado. The permit area is <br />further described as follows: <br />Portions of Sections 26, 27, 28, 34, and 35, T1 OS, R98W, 6th PM; Portions of Sections 1, 2, 11, 12, and 13, <br />T11 S, R98W, 6th PM; Portions of Section 7, T11 S, R97W, 6th PM; all in Mesa County. <br />Copies of the revision application are available for public review in the Division offices at the above address <br />and at the Mesa County Clerk and Recorder.
