**
If a visual sheen is detected a grab sample will be taken.
2012 MRP Well Pad discharge NOI — Supplemental Info.doc
11
Discharge Flow Rates
The flow rate of produced water discharges may vary considerably from location to location but is anticipated to
average less than 500 gpm. The maximum flow rate will also vary and may reach 2,500 gpm. The
containment/infiltration ponds will be constructed with a design capacity of approximately 0.5 acre -feet.
Effluent Limitations, Monitoring and Reporting Frequency
The following water quality parameters, effluent limits, monitoring & reporting frequencies, and methods of
sampling & analysis will be adhered to for all discharges to be covered under this NOI:
Effluent Discharge Monitoring Sample Reporting Method of
Parameter Limitations Freauency Tyne Frequency Analysis
Flow, gpm Report Once per Instantaneous Quarterly Field
30 -day avg. discharge* or continuous ** measurement **
& daily max.
TDS, mg /I Report Once per Grab Quarterly SM2540 -C or
daily max. discharge* equivalent
Oil and 10 * ** Once per Visual * ** Quarterly 1664 -A Gravimetric
grease, mg /I daily max. discharge* or equivalent
pH, su. 6.5 -9.0 Once per Grab Quarterly Field meter
(min. -max.) daily max. discharge*
* This monitoring frequency is based on discharges that are intermittent or temporary in nature. For discharges that are
not intermittent or temporary, a monitoring frequency that is appropriate for the type and duration of discharge will be
utilized.
Flow will be estimated using a recorder (e.g., Parshall flume, gauge) or determined from estimates based on
measurements of pump capacity or flow over timed intervals whichever represents existing conditions.
Supply Source of Hydrostatic Test Water
If hydrostatic testing is conducted, the water will either be potable or meet discharge requirements.
Time Schedule for Implementation
The plan for monitoring, treatment, and discharge of ground water produced during drilling, testing and
subsequent monitoring will be implemented immediately upon approval of this NOI.
