Pineda <br />Director <br />The Division received the 2011 Annual Reclamation Report for the Golden Eagle Mine on <br />February 6, 2012. In accordance with Rule 2.04.13, the Annual Reclamation Report is due to the <br />Division by February 15 New Elk Coal Company (NECC) is in compliance with this <br />requirement for the Golden Eagle Mine. <br />The Golden Eagle Mine consists of a reclaimed air shaft and access road encompassing 1.2 <br />acres. Seven groundwater wells require abandonment as per the reclamation plan or transfer to <br />another approved permit. NECC did not conduct any additional reclamation on the Golden <br />Eagle site in 2011 as noted in the 2011 Annual Reclamation Report. NECC conducted weed <br />control efforts on the site in 2011,The report does not state what noxious weed species were <br />controlled or what methods, mechanical or chemical, were employed. <br />The Golden Eagle Mine had disturbed a total of 66.17 acres over the life of Mine. 66.17 acres <br />have received phase I bond release. 64.97 acres have received phase II bond release. 64.97 <br />acres have received phase III bond release. <br />This report meets the requirements of Rule 2.04.13. <br />Sincerely, <br />( �r - <br />Janet H.
