February 1997 Monthly Report
Page 5
Evaluation of the normalized data:
The index value of 1. 46 for February indicates this result was
significantly higher than the mean value for the reference data for
the low flow class. Since this result is less than 2 it does not
require reanalysis, further evaluation or additional sampling. It
appears that all three streams had elevated zinc levels although
the Animas appears to be elevated the highest.
Please contact me if you have any questions on this report.
I certify under penalty of law
that I have personally examined Sincerely,
and am familiar with the information
submitted herein: and based on my
inquiry of those individuals
immediately responsible for Larry Perino
obtaining the information, I Reclamation Manager
believe the submitted information
if true, accurate and complete.
I am aware that there are significant
penalties for submitting false
information, including the possibility
of fine and imprisonment. See 15 U.S.C.
Section 1001 and 33 U.S.C. Section 1319
cc: EPA - Melanie Pallman
Technical Enforcement Program 8ENS-T
DMG - Wally Erickson
Allen Sorenson
