Gold Prince Bulkheads -2- September 16, 1996
4. Check the rebar cages that are to be located just inside each of the
forms to verify that the bars are on 12 inch centers, and if any bars have
been spliced, check for sufficient overlap. Any wire used to hold the
rebar in place should not be connected to the bulkhead forms, as this
would provide an avenue for rust in the future.
5. Verify that the operator has sufficient fresh water available to mix
the concrete, and verify that type V cement is being used, i.e. , inspect
the label on the bags.
6. Check to see that the forms are well braced to hold the weight of the
poured concrete.
Remember to keep track of any time that you spend on these mitigation
projects that are not part of the Sunnyside Mine reclamation permit. Once
you have made the inspection (if time permits you to do an inspection) ,
and any problems are corrected, SGC may proceed with the bulkhead
installation.
C:\WP51\SGC12
