Cherry Creek Drive South <br /> Denver, CO 80220 <br /> ,/ nC: Proposed voluntary remediation projects -Animas River Basin <br /> Dear Dave: <br /> Enclosed please find nine summaries of projects that Sunnyside Gold Corporation <br /> ("SGC")proposes to undertake as part of a negotiated settlement of Sunnyside Gold Corporation <br /> v. Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. Bill Goodhard of SGC asked me to <br /> transmit these to you. Of these projects, four are on SGC's "A" list(that is, projects that SGC <br /> will do following signing of the Consent Decree in the above-captioned lawsuit). They are: <br /> Sunnyside Mine Pool Mitigation, Mine Waste Dump, Gold Prince Mill Failings and Waste <br /> Dump, and Surface Mill Tailings at Eureka, Ic cv VL L <br /> The remaining projects are on SGC's `B" list, that is, projects that SGC will do if <br /> necessary to maintain Animas River water quality at monitoring point A72 below Silverton. Off- <br /> site mitigation projects, both"A" and`B" lists with appropriate conditions,will be included as <br /> part of the text of the Consent Decree to be entered as enforceable conditions of the settlement. <br /> All project descriptions are general, as has been discussed with you and other WQCD <br /> personnel in the past. SGC will perform reclamation and remediation according to Division of <br /> Minerals and Geology("DMG") - approved best management practices (`BMP") for <br /> reclamation, where those practices are applicable. <br />
