In order to provide additional assurance that discharge
treatment capacities are not exceeded, SGC will install flow
control piping and valving on the existing American Tunnel bulkhead
discharge pipe. This maintenance procedure will require a short
term closure (ie less than 10 hours) of the main American Tunnel
bulkhead valve. SGC does not view this maintenance procedure as
valve closure in the regulatory sense but felt WQCD and DMG should
be informed of this procedure. This should have no adverse effect
on the treated effluent.
Please call if you wish to discuss the above.
Sincerely,
Larry Perino
Superintendent-Technical Services
