The basis of the design is the following:
a) The Atlas tailings /waste pile runoff will be gathered by Collection Ditches #1 and #2 and the
water will be delivered to Sediment Pond #1. Diversions #1 and #1B will divert upstream
runoff from the pile to Sneffels Creek and the Atlas drainage. This area may not be disturbed
initially and therefore, the controls may not be installed at the start of the mine
b) The main Revenue Mine disturbance area will be gathered by Collection Ditches #3 and #4 and
the water will be delivered to Sediment Pond #2.
c) As part of the Revenue Mine's opening under this new permit, the mine water will no longer
discharge into the pond west of the portal. The mine water will flow through a 12" pipe on the
property to Mine Water Pond # 3, where it will mix with water from an upstream diversion of
Sneffels, be given time for any suspended solids to settle, and then discharged into Sneffels
Creek. This pond will only handle a minimal amount of surface flow.
Maps C -2, C -3 and C -4 show the various stages of the mine operation. Map C -4 shows the
comprehensive system, when all structures are fully built and both tailings /waste piles will be in their
final contour.
Revenue Mine August 2012 G -17
