Sample Point Description
SW -1 Sneffels Creek upstream of the Atlas Drainage
SW -2 Atlas Drainage (includes Atlas Mine discharge)
SW -3 Revenue Seep (believed to be the Revenue Mine
discharge)
SW -4 Sneffels Creek downstream of Revenue Mine area
(includes all surface water flows)
All samples taken are tested for a suite of metals and other ions. The surface water samples are
being tested for both dissolved and total amounts (includes suspended material) in milligrams per
liter. The lab results can be found in Appendix 4, and the sample sites are seen on Maps C -5 and G-
1. As of the permit application, results were obtained for the Q4 2011 and the Q1 2012. Tables G -2
and G -3 show the summary of these tests. Flows were also approximated during these sampling
periods although the estimates are very rough due to the conditions of the flows. As is seen by the
results, the Q4 2011 shows an upstream flow in Sneffels Creek of 1200 gpm, the Atlas drainage
contributed 500 gpm. The revenue seep (mine water discharge) was approximately 200 gpm and
Sneffels downstream was approximately 2000 gpm. The seep sample (SW -3) will be discontinued
once the mine water discharge no longer enters the current pond.
Revenue Mine August 2012 G -13
