• 2.05.3(3)
Storage Areas
The surface facilities shown on Map 10 contain various storage
areas. The material to be stored in the storage areas include:
1. Coal
2. Oil Fuel
3. Non -Coal Waste
4. Used /Abandoned Equipment
5. Snow
6. Material
7. Temporary Gob
Material is defined as items required for the operation of the mine
such as roof bolts, roof pans, timbers, caps, wedges, hoses, pipe,
pipe supplies, electrical equipment, electrical cable, electrical
supplies, conveyor belt, conveyor components, motors, gear boxes,
mine equipment, mine equipment components, surface equipment,
surface equipment components, rock dust gravel, masonry block,
masonry supplies, sealant, foam, and tools.
The coal storage area is discussed in this Section 2.05.3(3) under
the heading Coal Loadout Facility. Further discussion of the coal
storage area is presented in the discussion of the Coal Screening
• Plant. The oil fuel storage area is discussed in this section
under the heading Fuel Storage /Transfer Area. Non -coal waste is
discussed in Section 4.11.4. The material that is allowed to be
stored in these three storage areas (1, 2 or 3) will be limited to
the material identified in the permit discussion under, coal, oil
fuel and non -coal waste respectively.
The next three items, used /abandoned equipment, snow and material
are stored in common areas. The storage areas designated on the
Mine Facilities Map (Map 10) for these three items are designated
"Storage Area ". Any of the three items, used /abandoned equipment,
snow or material may be stored within the generic storage area at
any one time. However, because of slope stability concerns snow
will not be stored in the portal storage areas. Storage in the
portal area and the hairpin area of the portal access road will be
limited to the temporary storage of materials to be shuttled into
the mine.
The temporary gob storage area is discussed in Section 4.09. The
discussion includes a statement that the gob pile perimeter will be
kept away from the haul road loop to prevent tracking gob material
onto the road system. All gob that is temporarily stored on the
surface will be stored in the temporary gob storage area designated
on Map 10. However, equipment, snow and material may also be
stored in the temporary gob storage area when gob material is not
• being stored in the area.
2.05 -20 Rev. 01 -31 -94
