Also included with these technical revision responses are replacement pages and a change of
index sheet to ease incorporation into the permit document. If you have any questions or
require additional information, please feel free to contact me at your convenience at (970) 824-
1532.
Sincerely,
Tony Tennyson
Environmental Engineer
Encl. 2 copies
Cc: file CF 1.1.2.84
RUSLE calculation, it makes sense to use SEDCAD's algorithm for estimating
annual sediment volume for each pond. The method is explained on p. 64 of the
SEDCAD User's Manual.
Pursuant to CDRMS requests earlier in this year, CCC is also seeking to establish a
uniform basis for all ponds with regard to sediment storage volume and storm
detention volume for use in the required annual inspection. CCC is setting the
elevation of the lowest ungated overflow (generally, the lowest hole in a
perforated riser) as the sediment storage volume. Comparison of the storage
volume below this point to the estimated annual sediment inflow calculated by
SEDCAD represents in our professional opinion the best way to perform this
calculation on a consistent basis. To the extent that the annual inspections are
required to be performed and certified by a professional engineer, we believe this
approach removes much of the ambiguity that may currently exist as a result of
the several approaches that have been used in the past to make this calculation.
