June 21, 2012 C-1981-018/Deserado Mine ZTT

The dewatering pump was not operating during the time of the inspection. Oil curtains have been installed to help
control oil within the water being pumped. Additional rip rap was added at transfer points between each cell. All
embankments were stable and vegetation is starting to grow from the recent seeding on top of the topsoil piles
between ponds.

The Raw Water Lagoon was inspected. Embankments were well vegetated and stable. Water was being pumped
from the lagoon up to the Raw Water Tank. The lagoon was also being recharged by a second pump pumping
from the river into the Raw Water Lagoon.

HRB-2, HRB-3 and Explosive Storage SAEs were inspected for proper sediment control measures. Each SAE is
surrounded by berms diverting runoff to constructed rock check dams. No major signs of erosion were present and
all check dams were stable.

Water Storage Tank, Radio Tower, RDH-2 and B-Vent Shaft #1 and #2 SAEs were constructed with gravel pads
for sediment control measures. Each SAE were well graded with gravel and no major signs of erosion were
present.

B-Vent Shaft #3 still needs gravel to be spread around the area. No signs of erosion on the vent pad were
observed.

Transfer Stations #1 and #2 were inspected. All runoff from these facilities are directed to ditches and eventually
to ponds. Transfer Station #2 has runoff partially directed to two washdown sumps. Both sumps were dry.

Mine Dewatering Pond 1 with oil curtain. Sedimentation Pond DP-1.

GENERAL MINE PLAN COMPLANCE:
Large diameter CMP has been stored along the access road to the B-Vent Shaft #1. It appears these pipes are
outside of the disturbed area boundary and will need to be removed from the area.
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 8
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 4

35
Page of
