ii. The duration between the storm event sampled and the end of the most recent storm event that produced a
discharge.
• Snowmelt monitoring. The permittee must document the date of the sampling event for each monitored snowmelt event.
Sample Type and Requirements
• Grab samples shall be used for all monitoring and shall not be combined.
• Permittees must take a minimum of one grab sample from a discharge resulting from a measurable storm event. If the
permittee, using an approved analytical method, monitors any parameter more frequently than specified in the Monitoring
Requirements table above, then the results of such monitoring shall be included in the calculation and reporting of the
values required in the Discharge Monitoring Report Form (DMRs).
• Grab samples must be collected within the first 30 minutes of a measurable storm event. If it is not possible to collect the
sample within the first 30 minutes of a measurable storm event, the sample must be collected as soon as practicable after
the first 30 minutes, and documentation must be kept with the SWMP explaining why it was not possible to take samples
within the first 30 minutes.
• In the case of snowmelt, samples must be taken during a period with a measurable discharge.
• All discharge samples at a facility must be taken during the same storm event, if feasible.
Holding ponds:
• Sampling from facility holding ponds or other impoundments must be performed at the outlet from the pond. If the pond
does not discharge, no sampling is necessary.
• If any process water mixes with stormwater, the resulting mixture is all considered process water, and must be covered
under a CDPS industrial wastewater discharge permit.
Certification Issued 5/31/2012
This certification under the permit requires that specific actions be performed at designated times. The
certification holder is legally obligated to comply with all terms and conditions of the permit.
Signed,
4 %,.. 7 e6toi.L--
Andrew Neuhart
Assessment Based Permits Unit Manager
Water Quality Control Division
Effective: 5/31/2012 Certification Expires: 9/30/2012 (S &G)
