Such sampling would li ely include: (1) some of the sa mples listed in the Field Investigation Activities (Task 3), sucl as those from the surface se ;p downgradient of the maintenance shop and/or the Sutey ?ile underd rain, and (2) samples from locations identified du ing the reconnaissance as potent] illy contaminated (i.e., heavil i stained soils, etc.). Collection of such samples will pro 'ide preliminary information or, site conditions that will be incorporated into the scope of the ,ield investigation program (Task 3). Task 3 - Proposed Field l nvesti gation Activities Based on the current level of understanding of the site, the proposed field investig< lion activities will include sam sling to assess soil, surface-water and ground-water conditioi s at variou; locations of the sit In general, the sampling will focus on the following: • Soil and grc und-water samples will be collected to further assess potential in pacts associated with the maintenance shop and preparation )lant operations. • Surface-wat, r samples will be collected from the 001 Pond and haulage turn --Is discharges to assess general water quality at those locations. • Surface-watt r and grou id-water samples will be collec ed from the Sutey Pile inderdrain and a downgradient monitor ng well to assess genet it water qt ality at those locations. The sampling locations, ( anditions t ) be assessed, type of sample, collection method, and proposed analytical constit tents are si mmarized in Table 1; the specific soil and gr( und-water sampling locations are idej tified on F gure 1.
