Pineda <br />Director <br />The Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, <br />Article 33, Section 116, Paragraph 4, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on June 25, 2012 an <br />application to revise coal mining operations at the Peabody Sage Creek Mine was considered <br />complete for the purposes of filing. The revision was submitted by Peabody Sage Creek Mining <br />LLC. All review and comment periods as provided in the Act and the Regulations initiate from <br />this date of filing. <br />Peabody Sage Creek Mining, LLC proposes to reduce the sagebrush reference area that has <br />historically been utilized to demonstrate revegetation success associated with bond release <br />applications from approximately 8 acres to approximately 4 acres. <br />The Underground coal mining operation is on land located approximately 9 miles Southeast of <br />Hayden. The permit area is further described as follows: <br />Township 5 North, Range 87 West, all or portions of Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, <br />15, 16, 21 and 22; Township 6 North, Range 87 West, all or portions of Sections 27, 28, 29, 32, 33, <br />34, 35 and 36 <br />Approximately 9 miles south and east of the town of Hayden, CO to the East of Routt County <br />Road 27 at an approximate elevation of 6800 feet AMSL Mount Harris/Milner Quadrangle Map <br />The above - mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map of Mount <br />Harris. <br />Office of Office of <br />Mined Land Reclamation Denver • Grand Junction • Durango Active and Inactive Mines <br />
