INSPECTION REVORT Page 5
* Two large capacity diesel fuel tanks were noted without
containment berms, an effort was made to verify requirment in their
SPCC plan but it apparently does not cover that aspect nor do
Colorado regs cover it sufficiently.
CONSTRUCTION IN PROCESS and OTHER COMMENTS
Six thousand feet of pipeline has been installed for mine water
transportation from the rock tunnel to the district office yard . A
multi-media sand filter system is being placed at the lower end of
the pipe for the final treatment of the water prior to discharge .
New batch plant construction on the #2 mine bench for longwall
backfill and support .
An attempt is underway to install another longwall in the mine, in
the interim coal stockpiles are being filled out in anticipatation of
shut down required for installation .
Sediment ponds in general throughout the mine were clean and
appearances were that the process was being done on a regular basis .
/-\ Mine water was being discharged from the rock tunnel pond system, I+-
w A I v_ 4A .
