3 The Mining Permit Application indicates that each pond embankment has two
(2) concrete anti-seep collars, which must be removed from the site.
4 Two (2) 18" to 24" pipes cross beneath the reclaimed road in the vicinity of this pond. These
pipes will be excavated and removed from the site.
TASK 1 MOBILIZATION AND DEMOBILIZATION
This Task shall comply with Specification 1.0, Mobilization / Demobilization, of the Colorado
Inactive Mine Reclamation Program General Bid Specifications, 1996.
Sediment Control
Sediment control will be employed during and after construction at each pond area, and must be
accomplished throughout the duration of the Project. Silt fence, installed as depicted in igure 1
must be installed at each pond at the base of the excavation on the inside of the sedime
berm. It is estimated that not more than sixty feet(60') of silt fence will be used at each pond work
area. Straw bales, anchored by one quarter or three eighths inch (1/4" or 3/8") rebar, may be
used in lieu of silt fence at some areas where approved by PROJECT MANAGER. Straw bales
shall be certified as noxious weed free or noxious weed seed free by any authorized State or
County Officer. Documentation of certification shall be provided to the PROJECT MANAGER
prior to the bales being brought on site.
Site Clean Up
At some pond locations, miscellaneous metallic and non-metallic debris may be encountered.
This material will be removed from the site by the CONTRACTOR. Corrugated Metal Pipe
(CMP), steel pipe or PolyVinyl Chloride (PVC) pipe, primarily situated on the ground surface,
may be present at some ponds, such as at pond 001. These materials, when encountered,
must be removed from the site by the CONTRACTOR. All debris and pipe materials
encountered within the Project Area must be properly disposed of. Disposal may occur at an
appropriately licensed land fill, or the CONTRACTOR may salvage such materials.
Measurement and Payment
There will be no measurement for payment. Payment for this task will be reflected in a lump
sum bid under Item 1 on the Bid Schedule. This lump sum bid will cover all costs for
Mobilization and Demobilization. Payment shall be made as described in General Bid
Specifications 1996, Specification 1.0, Mobilization / Demobilization.
TASK 2 CORRUGATED METAL PIPE REMOVAL
The purpose of this task, in conjunction with Tasks 3 and 4 (Earth Work and Rip Rap
Placement, respectively) is to remove the corrugated metal pipe (CMP) dewatering device, and
to create a stable, open channel dewatering excavation, or spillway, at each pond.
8
