PROJECT WORK DESCRIPTION
PROJECT OVERVIEW
The goal of this Project is to create maintenance free sediment pond dewatering devices by
removing the existing corrugated metal pipe dewatering devices, and constructing rip rap lined
drainage ways. Locally collected willows will be planted near the outlet of each rip rap lined
drainage and along the perimeter of the ponds. Access roads near some ponds will be
reclaimed, and all disturbed areas will be revegetated. Map 3, Pond Reclamation Project Area,
depicts the approximate location of the ponds and other features pertinent to this Project.
NOTE that volumes, distances and areas stated in this document are ESTIMATIONS
ONLY. The CONTRACTORS are responsible for verifying all estimations prior to bid
submittal.
NOTE that the roads from the Rock Tunnel to the ponds at Mines 3 and 5(Maps 2 and 3)
have previously been reclaimed. Access across these roads is restricted to low ground
pressure equipment. Only one trip in and one trip out by a 3/4 ton four wheel drive pick up
truck or heavier equipment will be allowed. Any damage caused to water bars, low water
crossings, berms or vegetation will be immediately repaired by the CONTRACTOR at the
CONTRACTORS expense.
WORK TASKS 5c
The tasks included in this Project are as follows:
Task 1: Mobilization and Demobilization
Task 2: Corrugated Metal Pipe Removal
Task 3: Earth Work
Task 4: Rip Rap Placement
Task 5: Access Road Reclamation
Task 6: Revegetation
Task 7: Shrub Planting
Task 8: Equipment Rental
6
