DATE: March 3, 2000 TO: Interested Contractors FROM: Steve Renner, Division of Minerals and Geology RE: Coal Basin/2000 Spring Maintenance Project (C-81-017) Documented Quote Bid Number: PKA-O-XXXX The Division of Minerals and Geology is in the process of reclaiming the Coal Basin Mines. Currently, reclamation activities are performed under the supervision of the Division of Minerals and Geology, Office of Active and Inactive Mines, and are funded by proceeds from bankruptcy proceedings. The Division is soliciting telephone bids from interested contractors for the purpose of conducting spring and run-off maintenance activities at Coal Basin Mine. Work which may be accomplished includes culvert and ditch maintenance, flood control activities, erosion control work, placement of rip rap materials, earth work, placement of temporary sediment control measures, snow removal operations and other maintenance activities as necessary at the mine during snow melt run-off. Enclosed are a project description, map, and Bid Schedule. The General Conditions apply to this job. No bid bonds are required. Site Showing There will not be a site showing. Please refer to the attached map for the site location and anticipated project area. Bid Submission and Evaluation Bids shall be submitted by 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 23, 2000 by mail or fax (303) (832-8106) to Yvonne Brannon, at the Division of Minerals and Geology. Telephoned bids will NOT be accepted. Bids shall include a total price and a price for each bid item. Bids will be evaluated by comparing the grand total on the enclosed Bid Schedule. For each piece of equipment, silt fence, rip rap or straw bale, multiply the quantity by the unit price. Enter this price in the Total Cost column. The sum of the Total Cost column is the Grand Total. Award will be made to the lowest Grand Total bid.
