DATE: March 3, 2000 <br /> TO: Interested Contractors <br /> FROM: Steve Renner, Division of Minerals and Geology <br /> RE: Coal Basin/2000 Spring Maintenance Project (C-81-017) <br /> Documented Quote Bid Number: PKA-O-XXXX <br /> The Division of Minerals and Geology is in the process of reclaiming the Coal Basin <br /> Mines. Currently, reclamation activities are performed under the supervision of the <br /> Division of Minerals and Geology, Office of Active and Inactive Mines, and are funded <br /> by proceeds from bankruptcy proceedings. <br /> The Division is soliciting telephone bids from interested contractors for the purpose of <br /> conducting spring and run-off maintenance activities at Coal Basin Mine. Work which <br /> may be accomplished includes culvert and ditch maintenance, flood control activities, <br /> erosion control work, placement of rip rap materials, earth work, placement of <br /> temporary sediment control measures, snow removal operations and other <br /> maintenance activities as necessary at the mine during snow melt run-off. <br /> Enclosed are a project description, map, and Bid Schedule. <br /> The General Conditions apply to this job. No bid bonds are required. <br /> Site Showing <br /> There will not be a site showing. Please refer to the attached map for the site location <br /> and anticipated project area. <br /> Bid Submission and Evaluation <br /> Bids shall be submitted by 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 23, 2000 by mail or fax (303) <br /> (832-8106) to Yvonne Brannon, at the Division of Minerals and Geology. Telephoned <br /> bids will NOT be accepted. Bids shall include a total price and a price for each bid <br /> item. <br /> Bids will be evaluated by comparing the grand total on the enclosed Bid Schedule. For <br /> each piece of equipment, silt fence, rip rap or straw bale, multiply the quantity by the <br /> unit price. Enter this price in the Total Cost column. The sum of the Total Cost column <br /> is the Grand Total. Award will be made to the lowest Grand Total bid. <br />
