Thank you....
—Original Message—
From: Williams,Glenda
Sent: Thursday,June 15,2000 11:43 AM
To: Pineda,Loretta
Cc: Long,Mike;Bucknam,David;McArdle,Jim
Subject: Complaint—Coal Basin
I just talked with Mr. Brice Fast, 3184 Mesa Ave., Grand Junction, CO, 81504; (970) 434-5291.
Mr. Fast is very, very upset about the Coal Basin Weed Control Proj. bidding process. Specifically, he is upset with
Steve Renner and Sue Griswold at this time (but mostly Steve). Said the bidding process has been handled
incompetently.
His story, as I understood it: He placed a bid for the weed control proj. (PKA 1083) in 1998 and never received anything
in writing. He indicated that Steve gave him verbal approval to go ahead with the proj., but since Steve nor the Division
sent anything in writing, Mr. Fast did not do the proj.
This year he placed another bid for work at Coal Basin. He got a letter(he said the name was wrong on it) signed by Sue
Griswold stating that he was a "non-responsive bidder" (apparently, because of the outcome of the 1998 bid) and that his
bid would not be considered. He has called and talked with Sue and attempted to file a complaint. But, she told him that
his complaint had to be made in writing. Of course, he is furious about this, because he said he never received anything
in writing from us/Steve about the previous proj., and he cannot understand why his complaint has to be in writing. t
He also said that he requested that Sue send him a copy of this year's bid list, and she said she could not provide this.
He was a little calmer by the time I hug up. I told him that I would try to find (any)paperwork and that we would try to
resolve this problem. I told him that Mike could call him back tomorrow.
His call was transferred to me (Mike) from EDO; he said that he plans to contact the Governor's Ofc. about this.
Glenda
.n
1
