disturbing the pond and clarification process.
The underf low from the hydroclone, which contains
the middling solids removed by the hydroclone,
discharges by gravity to the raw coal sump of the
coal preparation plant.
Mine drainage containing suspended solids less than
35 mesh can be bypassed by gravity flow directly to
the the preparation plant's 55 foot diameter refuse
thickener, to be used as preparation plant make-up
water. The refuse thickener underflow goes to the
disc filters for dewatering, then to the refuse
conveyor belt.
Instrumentation for the treatment plant includes a
control panel; alarm/indicator lights for hydroclone
pump agitators and tank levels; local on/off
switches for pumps and agitators. Audible alarms
are provided for high/low tank levels and motor
trips.
During periods in which the preparation plant is not
functioning, during maintenance, or periods of high
flow the 016 ponds will be used.
We anticipate further discussion and good input from the MLRD as
details of the treatment plan are finalized.
Yours truly,
Diane Delaney
Mid-Continent Resources
