Supplemental Information.
Dear Mr. Savage:
Mid-Continent Resources, Inc. has applied for a technical revision
to permit C-81-017 in order to add additional capabilities for
treatment of mine drainage. As indicated in our previous
submission, Mid-Continent's objective is to provide alternatives
for treatment of mine drainage. Our proposed system allows us to
manage mine water flows between eight (8) sediment ponds at three
locations and the water treatment plant. The enclosed information
is supplemental to our request of October 11, 1990.
We would like to amend our submission of October 11, and supersede
Attachment(s) 2 (Process Flow Description) and 3 (Process Flow
Diagram) [ The diagram and description have been revised and are
submitted as Attachment(s) A and B of this supplemental
information] . In addition, Attachments 5 and 6 of the October 11
submittal (Options B and C) would by-pass of the plant and route
flows directly to the 001 and 020 ponds. We have determined these
to be infeasible options.
The alternatives within the proposed system are as follows:
Eresent System: All mine water flows to 016 ponds.
In the event of power outage(s) or other problems with the
water treatment plant, during plant maintenance, or during
idle periods of the preparation plant, mine water will be
routed to the 016 ponds.
Mine Water Treatment Plant: Normal Operation. All mine
water reports to the water treatment plant. Overflow
