All of- these slope configurations <br /> exhibit factors of safety much greater than the 1. 5 factor of <br /> safety required by OSy regulations . These values are relatively <br /> high, reflecting the lack of a free water surface in the fill, <br /> as assumed in the analysis. It is felt that these values are <br /> appropriate for their respective slope configurations, providing <br /> the slope is not allowed to become saturated . Based upon the <br /> analysis, we recommend the 2--horizontal to 1-vertical slope con- <br /> figuration, as shown on Plate 1, as being the steepest permissible <br /> face slope for the fill. <br /> -7- <br />
