Box 158
Carbondale, Colorado 81623
RE: Technical Revision to Permit #77-419 (C-017-81)
Dear Mr. Bowman:
Enclosed is a copy of the public notice announcing the Division's decision
to approve the technical revision request for disposal of trommel screen
waste at the Rock Tunnel waste disposal site as described in your letter
of May 26, 1982. Please publish this notice once in a newspaper of
local circulation. If there are no comments received within 10 days of
the publication of this notice, the decision will become final.
The Division is approving this technical revision with the condition
that the trommel screen waste be mixed with the rock tunnel waste.
Although it is unlikely that the pile will become saturated, in the
event that it did, the mancos shale from the rock tunnel would act as a
buffer against the acidic effects of the trommel screen rock.
If you have any questions, please call.
e Si cerely,
Jim Herron
Reclamation Specialist
JH:ep
