R. on New Trash Pile Location
Dear Jim:
Enclosed is a map showing the proposed permanent (life of
mine) trash pile. At this location it would be below the
tunnel refuse, yet still within the parameter ditch and
sediment pond control system.
A recent soils testing program , STIP No. 18 was completed
on 7/15/82 and will be submitted within 30 days. It will verify
the amount of topsoil that will be placed in the lower storage
area.
The trash will be roughly compacted in 4-foot lifts and
at the end of mining, four feet of noncombustible material will
be placed on top; then, as per the tunnel reclamation plan.
Upon approval of this T. R. we would request permission to
place four feet of non-combustible material over the present
trash pile then utilize the area for placement of coal refuse.
Please contact me if you need more information.
Sincerely,

Environmental Coor ator
DWBowman :ms
Enclosures
