Long, Director
Division of Minerals and Geology
1313 Sherman Street, Suite 215
Denver, Colorado 80203
Dear Mr. bong:
This letter 1s to advise you that as of this date all of the
mine portals of the coal mines and rock tunnels operated by Mid-
Continent Resources situated in Coal Basin have been sealed in
accordance with the approved mining plan submitted to the Mine
Safety and Health Administration (MSBA) .
As you know, the contract for this work was awarded to R & G
Excavation Company last year and work was commenced on the sealing
during the summer of 1993. About half of the work remained to be
done before inclement winter weather forced R & G Excavation to
pull off the job. R & G Excavation moved back on the job at the
beginning of summer of this year.
Yesterday this work was inspected and payment to R & G
Excavation was authorized for satisfactory completion of their
contract.
If you have any questions pertaining to the sealing of the
mine, I would appreciate hearing from you at the earliest possible
date.
Your Truly,
Mid Continent Resources,
by
jar/rhs
cc: DD, RD, JH, G.L.
file, D -86a10
