NOTICE OF PROPOSED DECISION <br /> The Colorado Division of Minerals, Energy, and Geology proposes to <br /> approve a revision to the approved reclamation plan submitted by <br /> Mid-Continent Resources for the Coal Basin Mines. <br /> The Coal basin mines are located in Pitkin County, approximately <br /> four miles from Redstone, Colorado. The surface to be affected is <br /> both privately and federally owned. The permit area encompasses <br /> approximately 11, 380 acres in Sections 31 and 32 , T 9 S, R 89 W; <br /> Sections 5-8, 10, 11, 14-21, 28-30, T 10 S, R 89 W; Section 36, T <br /> 9 S, R 90 W; Sections 1, 2 , 11-14 , 23-25, T 10 S, R 90 W; all in the <br /> 6th P.M. in Gunnison and Pitkin Counties, Colorado. <br /> The proposed approval decision is based on a finding that the <br /> proposed operation will comply with all requirements of the <br /> Colorado Surface Coal Mining Reclamation Act, C.R. S. 34-33-101, et <br /> seq. , and the regulations promulgated thereunder. <br /> Copies of the proposed decision are on file for public inspection <br /> at the Colorado Office of Mined Land Reclamation, Room 215, <br /> Centennial Building, 1313 Sherman Street, Denver, Colorado, the <br /> County Clerk' s Office in Pitkin County, 506 east Main, Aspen <br /> Colorado, and the Garfield County Clerk and Recorders ' s Office, <br /> Garfield County Courthouse, Glenwood Springs, Colorado. Persons <br /> with an interest that may be adversely affected by the proposed <br /> decision may request a formal public hearing before the Mined Land <br /> Reclamation Board on the proposed decision. Such request must be <br /> made within thirty (30) days of the initial publication of this <br /> notice, must be in writing, and must state with reasonable <br /> specificity the reasons for the request and the objections to the <br /> proposed decision. <br />
