REEVES, JR . <br /> DATE: OCTOBER 7, 1993 <br /> Please be advised that as of this date the following mine portals <br /> have been sealed by R & G Excavating in accordance with the MSHA- <br /> approved sealing plan approved June 23, 1993 ( from our original <br /> submission of Nov. 4, 1993; sealing has been approved by MSHA) : <br /> Dutch Creek No . 1 Mine <br /> Portals 15 through 21, total 7 . Two portals <br /> remain, #22 and #38 . #38, the main fan portal, <br /> will be among the last four sealed, along with the <br /> two Coal Basin Adit portals ( #39 and #40 ) and the <br /> No . 2 Mine main fan portal ( #41 ) . <br /> L . S . Wood No . 3 Mine <br /> All portals have been sealed, no . ' s 1 through 7, <br /> total 7 . <br /> Bear Creek No . 4 Mine <br /> All portals have been sealed ( this work was done <br /> previously and was riot part of the current MSHA <br /> plan or the R&G contract ) . These portals need to <br /> be covered over in the normal course of <br /> reclamation . <br /> Coal Basin No . 5 Mine <br /> A21 portals are sealed, no . 's 8 through 11, 13 and <br /> 14, total 6 . No . 12 has caved shut . <br /> A total of 41 portals required sealing, not including those <br /> previously sealed at No . 4 and No . 5 mines . With 21 now sealed, <br /> the job is slightly over 50% complete. Of the original 52 portals, <br /> 37 have been sealed or have caved shut, for a total of 71% . <br /> Please call if you have any questions or require any additional <br /> information. <br />
