Tracer Inoculation of the Sunnyside Mine
Page 3
SGC requests the CDPHE position on the following issues :
1) Does CDPHE endorse the concept of placing the bromide tracer
in the Sunnyside Mine?
2) Will the CDPHE recognize the absence of bromide in the
monitoring program (after valve closure) as evidence that
water from the Sunnyside Mine is not reaching surface?
3) Will the CDPHE , through the CDPS permit renewals (which are
in the drafting phase) make allowance for bromide
concentrations in the discharges before valve closures?
Introduction of the bromide tracer into the Sunnyside Mine is the
next major work phase of the bulkhead program and SGC would
appreciate a response at your earliest convenience. If additional
information is needed or you wish to discuss the above report,
please contact me.
Sincerely,
Larry Perino
Superintendent-Technical Services
cc: Allen Sorenson, DMG w/enclosures
Chris Hayes
